AI dubbing without a minute meter.

Cloud dubbing services sell you minutes. Linesmith is a desktop app: it transcribes, translates and dubs your videos on your own computer, so a two-hour course costs the same as a two-minute clip on our side.

Windows 10/11 and Linux · first 3 videos free, every feature · no account

Same scene, new voice

Both clips were made with Linesmith from the same English scene: the original with subtitles you can switch, and a Spanish dub. Music and ambience stay; only the speaker’s voice is replaced.

Rask AI prices with monthly billing and plan features from rask.ai/pricing, checked on 6 October 2026.

The trade-off is honest: a cloud service needs nothing but a browser and includes the AI cost. Linesmith needs a Windows or Linux computer and an AI key, and in return it never meters your minutes.

What you get

33 languages, many at once

Translate one video into several languages in a single run, each with its own subtitle file and, if you want, its own dub.

A voice per speaker

Linesmith finds who says each line and gives every person a separate voice. Change any guess in the editor before dubbing.

Check every line first

Read the translation next to the original, fix a word or a timing, then export SRT, VTT, burned-in subtitles or a dubbed video.

Your files stay local

Speech recognition runs on your computer (Whisper or Parakeet). Videos are never sent to us. Voices from Google Gemini, ElevenLabs, OpenAI or Azure.

Pricing

Every plan has every feature and works on 2 computers. Try the first 3 videos free, then $19 / month, $129 / year or $249 once.

Questions

Does it work on a phone or a Mac?

No. Linesmith runs on Windows 10/11 64-bit and 64-bit Linux. An NVIDIA graphics card is recommended.

Can it download videos from YouTube?

No. Linesmith works with video and subtitle files on your computer.

Can I use a local model instead of a cloud AI?

Yes, for translation: local models through Ollama or LM Studio work, and then nothing is sent anywhere.
