1. Scope and contact

This notice describes Linesmith for Windows and Linux and algowisp.com. Linesmith and the website are provided by an individual developer working under the AlgoWisp brand; in this notice "AlgoWisp" means that developer. Contact for product support and privacy requests: [email protected]. The application has no central Linesmith user account or analytics service. Purchases and licence activations use Polar; the AI provider accounts you connect are separate.

This is information about data handling, not blanket consent. Accepting the terms does not authorise every upload, waive privacy rights or supply a legal basis for processing another person's data.

2. Your files on your computer

Speech recognition runs locally with installed models. A local project can contain the source video, audio, transcription, translations, summary, chat history, speaker labels, voice fingerprints and estimated voice gender used to group speakers and assign voices, and generated outputs. These files can identify people and contain private or sensitive information. Speaker and voice estimates can be wrong; do not use them as identity verification or a basis for consequential decisions about a person. They remain on your computer until you delete them; no automatic project deletion period is configured.

Project deletion removes the application's local project directory. It does not remove the original file outside that directory, separately exported files, your own backups or copies held by a provider. Temporary recordings made in the own-voice dialog are removed locally when the dialog has finished its recording or upload tasks and closes. A crash or forced termination can leave temporary files on disk.

API keys are saved in local settings. They are not encrypted by Linesmith. POSIX file permissions restrict settings and sensitive local records to the current account where supported; this does not protect against malware, administrators, backups or an unlocked computer. Use operating-system access controls and disk encryption where appropriate. Do not include API keys in screenshots, logs or support emails.

3. Project content sent to a service you choose

Cloud requests go from your computer to your configured service using your API key. AlgoWisp does not operate a central server receiving your project content in this workflow. This describes the network route; data protection roles and obligations still depend on the actual purposes, participants and circumstances.

FeatureContent sent
TranslationSubtitle or transcript text, video/project title, glossary and surrounding text needed for context.
SummaryTranscript or subtitle text and the project title.
Chat about a videoTranscript, title, your question and recent chat history included for context.
Dubbing and text adjustmentText to speak, speaker labels, language and voice/performance instructions; an AI text-adjustment feature also sends subtitle text and context.
Gemini dubbingIn addition to text and instructions, original speech can be sent in chunks of up to eight minutes with brief overlapping context. Across requests this can cover the relevant speech in the video, rather than only a short sample.
Acting notes for another dubbing providerWhen ElevenLabs, OpenAI or Microsoft Azure speaks the dub and a Gemini key is set, Linesmith asks separately before sending the original speech to Google Gemini so that Gemini can write acting notes. If you allow it, the original speech is sent in chunks of up to eight minutes with brief overlapping context, together with the original words, speaker labels and line times. If you decline, the notes are written from the words only and the dub continues.
Create your own voiceYour selected voice sample; Gemini also receives its required consent recording. The provider creates and may retain a voice resource in your account.
Voice previewThe preview text and selected voice settings.

Providers also receive the API authentication and network metadata needed for a request, including your IP address; some model, voice and account-information requests can occur when you configure a service. Services currently supported include Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Mistral, xAI, OpenRouter and Groq for text, and Google Gemini, ElevenLabs, OpenAI and Microsoft Azure for speech. A custom server receives data at the address you enter. A server described as local only stays on this computer if its address and configuration are actually local; a remote address is a separate destination.

4. Permission, local features and offline use

Before sending project content for a cloud feature, the application shows the selected destination and relevant categories and asks you to allow that operation. Decisions are stored locally for that destination, purpose and document version. A changed destination or scope needs another decision. You can decline, use available local features and reset future permissions in settings. Resetting a decision does not recall data already sent or stop an already authorised running task.

Offline content mode prevents cloud content processing by the supported application flows. Initial component or model installation, licence activation/validation, update checks and other explicitly requested network actions are separate. Install the necessary models first and review the update setting; the offline option is not a guarantee that every network function in the computer or application is disabled.

The operation permission is a product control. It does not by itself establish GDPR/KVKK consent, obtain permission from other speakers, create a data-processing agreement or legalise a regular international transfer of business data. If you process customer, employee or other people's data, assess the relevant legal basis and safeguards before selecting a cloud service.

5. Provider retention, training and voice deletion

The selected provider's account terms, location, settings, training and abuse-monitoring practices govern its processing. Linesmith cannot promise that a provider stores nothing or never trains on data. Read the provider's current terms before uploading.

Google Gemini API terms distinguish paid and unpaid services. Unpaid services may use inputs and outputs for product/model improvement and human review; do not send sensitive, confidential or personal information to those services. Paid-service handling still includes limited safety/security processing and other stated processing. Google imposes age, region and paid-service requirements for API clients.

For stateless Gemini dubbing interactions, Linesmith requests that the interaction object not be stored by setting store: false. This setting is separate from Google's service-level processing and retention policies; it is not a zero-retention guarantee. Voice creation intentionally stores a provider-side voice resource and uses the provider's required storage setting.

Remove created voices or request deletion through your provider's account controls or support. Closing this application, removing its temporary recordings, resetting its permissions or deleting a project does not delete the provider's saved voice, API records or logs. Account-level controls and retention differ between providers.

6. Purchases and licence validation

Polar handles checkout, payments, invoices and customer-portal access under its privacy policy. It collects the purchase and payment details it requires and can make necessary order, customer and licence information available to the supplier for delivery, support and licensing. Linesmith does not collect payment card details in the application.

Licence activation sends the licence key, organisation identifier, computer name and operating-system information to Polar. Subsequent checks can also send the activation identifier. Device names may contain a person's name, so rename a device if necessary. A local licence record stores the key, activation information and last validation result until removed. Purchase, accounting and dispute records are handled separately from project content and are subject to applicable legal retention duties and the service's policies.

7. Updates, downloads and this website

The application connects to algowisp.com to check for and download software updates. Automatic checks can be disabled in settings. Installing components and models contacts the relevant download host, such as Hugging Face or package repositories. A public AI-price list and provider model/voice lists may also be requested. Some model downloads are large; check the selected model and available storage/data allowance before installing it. Those hosts can receive IP addresses and request metadata; the absence of analytics does not mean that network services have no logs.

algowisp.com sets no analytics or advertising cookies and has no application account system. Your chosen website language is remembered in this browser's local storage. The hosting and security infrastructure can process IP addresses, requested URLs, browser/network metadata and security logs to deliver the site and protect it. A purchase link opens Polar, whose site and policies are separate.

8. Support, purposes and legal grounds

If you contact support, the message, email address and any attachments are used to answer you, investigate the issue and handle relevant product or rights requests. Send only the details needed; remove credentials and unnecessary third-party data. A voluntarily sent file is a separate disclosure from ordinary local processing.

Where applicable, necessary purchase, licence and support processing is based on establishing or performing the relevant contract; legally required records and responses are based on legal obligations. Website delivery and proportionate security processing may rely on legitimate interests where permitted and after considering the affected person's rights. Any optional processing that requires consent must have a separate, specific choice. The privacy notice itself is not consent.

Local project retention is controlled by you. Support records are kept for handling the request and any necessary follow-up, legal duty or dispute; provider-side records follow the provider's policy. Deletion requests are considered with applicable retention requirements and the actual party controlling the record. No claim is made that all records disappear immediately on uninstalling.

9. International processing and your rights

Polar, AI services and hosting/download infrastructure may process data outside your country. The countries, roles and safeguards depend on the service and your account. Sending your own information directly and an organisation transferring another person's data can have different legal consequences. Routine transfers are not automatically lawful simply because an application presents an allow button.

Depending on applicable law, you may request information/access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to processing, withdraw a consent where used, and complain to the competent authority. Under KVKK, this includes learning whether data is processed, its purpose and recipients, requesting correction or deletion where conditions are met, notification of those actions to recipients, objecting to an adverse result from solely automated analysis and seeking compensation for unlawful processing. Contact product support for records handled for this product and the relevant provider for its account records. In Türkiye you may use the KVKK application/complaint process; in the EU you may contact your supervisory authority. These rights are not waived by accepting the product terms.

Changes to these documents receive a date and version. The application stores a local acceptance or existing-licence notice record, plus cloud-operation decisions, with document identifiers, timestamps and language. These records stay on your computer and are not automatically uploaded to AlgoWisp.
